PhotoSentry ("we," "our," or "us") is a Shopify app developed by Zoidworks that provides content protection services (for example: right-click blocking, image drag prevention, keyboard shortcut blocking, warning modals) and an analytics dashboard for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Shop Information: Shop domain, name, and contact details provided during app installation
• Configuration Settings: Protection settings and modal configurations you configure

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Protection Events: When protection features trigger on your storefront (right-click attempts, image drags, etc.), we collect:
  • Image URL or page path where protection triggered
  • Timestamp of event
  • User agent (browser/device type)
  • IP address of the visitor (used for geolocation and abuse prevention)
  • Approximate geographic location (country, region, city — derived from IP address via third-party geolocation service)
• Usage Data: App usage statistics to improve features and performance

2.3 IP Address Processing (GDPR Notice)

We recognize that IP addresses constitute personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We process IP addresses under the legitimate interest legal basis (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the purpose of:

• Enabling merchants to identify and prevent unauthorized copying of their content
• Providing geographic analytics about protection events
• Enabling IP-based blocking of suspected scrapers or abusive visitors

IP addresses are stored for security, analytics, and geo-blocking features. All protection event data (including IP addresses) is permanently deleted within 24 hours of app uninstallation.

2.4 Information We DO NOT Collect

• Customer names, email addresses, or contact information
• Payment or credit card information
• Browsing history outside your storefront

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide content protection services (right-click blocking, image drag prevention, keyboard shortcut blocking, warning modals)
• Display analytics about protection events in your dashboard
• Improve app features and performance
• Provide technical support
• Comply with legal obligations

• All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
• Data is stored securely on our servers with restricted access

5. Data Retention

• Protection Events: Stored for the duration of your app installation
• Shop Settings: Retained while the app is installed
• Upon Uninstall: All shop data (including protection events and IP addresses) is automatically deleted within 24 hours

• Share data with advertisers or marketing companies
• Use your data for purposes other than providing app services

8. Cookies and Tracking

PhotoSentry does NOT use cookies for tracking. The protection script runs client-side on your storefront without persistent tracking technologies. Anonymous analytics events are sent via standard HTTP requests.

• Shopify: We use Shopify APIs to integrate with your store. Shopify's privacy policy applies to their services.
• Hosting: Data is hosted on secure servers. Our hosting providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.

10. Children's Privacy

PhotoSentry is not intended for use by children under 13 (or 16 in EU). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us immediately for deletion.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located in different countries. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
